"22 April 2025: A Dark Day in Pahalgam’s History"

 


On April 22, 2025, a devastating terrorist attack occurred in Baisaran meadow near Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of at least 28 tourists and injuries to several others. The Resistance Front (TRF), an offshoot of the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, claimed responsibility for the attack, citing opposition to the settlement of over 85,000 non-locals in the region as an attempt to alter its demographic balance.

The attack took place around 1:00 PM IST when four militants descended from nearby forests and opened fire on tourists at close range. The victims included Indian nationals from states such as Karnataka, Maharashtra, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh, as well as two foreign tourists—one from the United Arab Emirates and another from Nepal. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was in Saudi Arabia at the time, condemned the attack and vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice. Union Home Minister Amit Shah traveled to Srinagar to assess the situation and coordinate the security response. The incident has drawn widespread national and international condemnation, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.

  •  A woman recounted how militants shot her husband after declaring, "He is not a Muslim" and told her, "Go tell this to Modi". 
  • Eyewitnesses described chaos as gunmen emerged from forests and fired indiscriminately.

One of the Highest-Scoring Encounters in IPL history (PBKS vs SRH )

Lucknow में Bhim Rao Ambedkar की मूर्ति को लेकर विवाद
